Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Mr. Seltzer moved to the United States to attend Goucher College, Towson, Maryland where he majored in business and minored in pre-law. Graduating early in 2001, he furthered his practical education in law by working as a paralegal on a major New York City products liability litigation suit before attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. Upon completing two semesters, ranking in the top 10% of his class, Mr. Seltzer transferred to the University of Miami, School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate degree in 2004.

During law school, David interned with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office. Upon graduation, he accepted a full time staff position with the State Attorney's office, gaining experience handling cases ranging from DUIs and misdemeanor possession of drugs to juvenile and felony cases, including possession with intent to distribute drug cases. Mr. Seltzer handled search and seizure drug warrants, eventually delving into internet or cyber crime issues.

Assigned to the Cyber Crimes Unit of the State Attorney's Office, Mr. Seltzer trained in computer forensics, becoming responsible for the Unit's proactive investigations into the field of cyber crime and internet crime offenses, an emerging area of law. This exposure and training has provided David with insight not only into how drug crimes are tracked and prosecuted, but also how they can be successfully defended. David gained additional valuable insight into the various legal intricacies in this field by drafting search warrants for suspected drug crime offenses.

With this extensive, cutting-edge background in the field of cyber crime law, along with his familiarity with Florida and federal drug crime statutes, Mr. Seltzer entered private practice by establishing Seltzer Mayberg, LLC.
